Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNO): Traffic movement on Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat up to Habbak will remain restricted from 06:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday in view of the “Run for Unity” Kashmir Marathon-2026, Traffic Police said on Wednesday.
The marathon will be organised from Police Golf Course Lake View to Duck Park and back, with VIPs and participants from different walks of life expected to attend.
In an advisory, accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Traffic Police said traffic coming from R.M. Bagh towards Gupkar and Lalit would be diverted towards Badyari Dalgate for onward travel. No traffic, except participants, will be allowed on Gupkar Road until the event concludes.
It said motorists travelling towards Nishat, Shalimar and Harwan have been advised to use the Dalgate-Rainawari-Hazratbal-Zakoora-Burzahama-Tailbal-Chandpora-Shalimar route instead of Boulevard Road.
Similarly, motorists travelling from Harwan, Shalimar, Nishat and adjoining areas towards Lal Chowk have been advised to use the Shalimar-Chandpora-Tailbal-Burzahama-Zakoora-Hazratbal route instead of the Nishat-Boulevard Road axis.
According to the advisory, motorists travelling from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, Habbak and adjoining areas towards Lal Chowk have been advised to use the Habbak-Dargah-Rainawari route instead of Foreshore Road.
“All participants have been advised to park their vehicles only at designated parking places at Zabarwan Park and the Botanical Garden. Vehicles parked wrongly on roadsides will be towed,” it reads, adding that emergency vehicles will be allowed to take the shortest route, while citizens requiring assistance can contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103—(KNO)
